Anoushka Mirchandani: Artist Editorial Shoots

I partnered with the exceptionally talented San Francisco-based visual artist, Anoushka Mirchandani, to style each of her looks for the editorial photo shoots designed to promote and showcase her solo exhibition at Glass Rice Gallery and her latest body of work, Note to Self.

The goals of the shoots were to highlight Anoushka’s process in the studio, show the full collection of her artwork in various stages of completion and build editorial, press and social content that effectively portrays who she is as a female artist.

Working alongside a stellar team—photographer, Hillary Jeanne, and makeup artist, Maya Roget—we successfully captured the essence of Anoushka’s unique personality, style and talent.

In selecting the looks for the in-studio shoots, we established that they needed to feel authentic to her and what she might actually wear while working, so we leveraged many pieces she already owned, styling them to look a bit more camera-ready with complementary delicate jewelry and natural hair & makeup. For the more editorial-focused looks, we pulled in a mix of contemporary and vintage apparel, jewelry and shoes along with brighter pops of makeup tones and sleeker hairstyles to create an eclectic, modern and true-to-her-personality vibe.
