OSL ‘20: What I Would Have Worn

In honor of this weekend’s Inside Lands virtual festival and what would have been my 10th year at Outside Lands, I’m sharing three days of looks—what I would have worn this year. Already can’t wait for 2021!

Day 1: Friday // Back at my usual tricks with the scarf-tied-over-a-slip-dress look. This is an edgier, more autumn-inspired take on my previous version. I typically only do Friday evening so I don’t have to take work off and then do full days on Saturday and Sunday. Every year, I only last sans pants for the first couple hours before I inevitably have to dig out reinforcements from the depths of my purse. In this case, I’d slip on my fave pair of American Apparel black tricot leggings under my slip dress. And let’s be real, also probably a second coat.

Outfit details: borrowed this slip from under an ancient Kelly Bergin dress; vintage Coach scarf; Franco Sarto boots (similar); vintage suede jacket; seriously old Brandy Melville crystal necklace; same trusty Ray Bans.

Day 2: Saturday // Saturday is usually the longest day for me and the day I like to be most comfortable, hence this athleisure-based look. This outfit is built for speed and maximum flexibility—perfect for romping around the Polo Fields all day long. Toss on my belt of the moment and a furry jacket and what I’d usually wear to yoga is transformed into something festival-ready. When the sun goes down, I’d simply swap the shorts for my go-to pair of Aritzia Wilfred Free vegan leather leggings.

Outfit details: Blank NYC jacket via Bloomingdales; Current Clothing sports bra; Beyond Yoga biker shorts; Zara belt; Vans; vintage shades.

Day 3: Sunday // Sundays are usually my chill days at OSL. I might have a couple drinks, but these days, I’m not getting lit and I’m not staying out past the final set. I would probably go for my brightest colored look on Sunday because, for whatever reason, it usually tends to be a sunny day. For evening warmth, I would trade the shorts for my Just Black mom jeans from Current Clothing, which feature a similar wash.

Outfit details: Faithfull the Brand top via Isalis; AGOLDE shorts via Isalis; Forever 21 jacket (found one on Poshmark for ya); Marc Fisher shoes (still avail in blue!); Baublebar earrings (Poshmark); vintage sunnies.
